In 2001, Wang Qingfu, who had returned home from working in Hebei, recognized the development prospects of the local edible mushroom market and decided to make a big push in this industry. With the support of the village committee, he contracted 2 mu of wasteland north of the village, invested more than 30,000 yuan to build 2 oyster mushroom cultivation greenhouses, put in more than 30,000 jin of substrate, and made a profit of more than 20,000 yuan that year. In 2004, he also took advantage of the local abundance of cottonseed hulls, which were high in quality and low in price, using cottonseed hulls as the cultivation substrate, put in more than 30,000 jin of substrate, and cultivated more than 800 sq m of oyster mushrooms. Because Wang Qingfu understood the technology, was good at management, and had flexible sales information, by the end of April 2005 he had already earned a net income of more than 30,000 yuan.
Last autumn, Wang Qingfu and his older brother jointly invested more than 80,000 yuan and expanded the oyster mushroom greenhouses to 7, with a total substrate input of more than 100,000 jin. At present, under Wang Qingfu's careful management, his 7 mushroom greenhouses have begun to produce mushrooms for market one after another.
