Shen Yue'e of Wangbi Village, Laixi, gets rich by raising dairy cows at home

Who says women are not as good as men? Shen Yue'e is a rural housewife from Wangbi Village, Yuanshang Town, Laixi. In 1994, she saw that the dairy products project of the Swiss company Nestle had settled in our city, and realized that developing dairy cow breeding was a good way to lead the people to prosperity. So she overcame one difficulty after another, took the lead by example, and raised 100,000 yuan by every possible means, purchasing 11 high-quality dairy cows from Beijing and setting up a family dairy farm. In recent years, through continuous development and growth, her dairy cow breeding farm has begun to take shape. At present, she keeps 65 dairy cows, of which 36 are milk-producing cows, with a daily fresh milk output of 500 kg, an annual net income of 160,000 yuan, and total fixed assets of more than 1 million yuan, making her a well-known dairy cow champion near and far.

Shen Yue'e runs her dairy farm in a rolling development manner. Apart from retaining enough working capital from the breeding income, she uses all the rest to expand reproduction, so that the breeding scale keeps expanding and the benefits steadily increase. To improve her feeding and management level, she successively went to dairy farms and households in other places and in this city to learn experience, bought professional books to study, and subscribed to professional newspapers such as Qilu Animal Husbandry News, enabling herself to master a complete set of dairy cow feeding and management techniques. To improve the quality of the herd and the production level, she used the American "Black Star" dairy cow fine-tube frozen semen introduced by the city dairy cow center to breed the cows, and strengthened the selection and breeding of replacement heifers, thus raising the milk production level of the herd from 11.5 kg at the beginning to more than 25 kg, with the highest dairy cow reaching a daily milk output of more than 50 kg. To ensure a year-round supply of green feed for the dairy cows, she built two silage pits, which can store 375,000 kg of silage. At the same time, she signed a contract with the town veterinary station, under which the veterinary station provides disease prevention and control services, reducing the incidence of disease among the dairy cows and ensuring the healthy development of the dairy farm.
