Wang Jinsheng of Ping'an Tun Village, Jiangnan: Getting Rich by Raising Deer

    Wang Jinsheng, 54 years old this year, is an ordinary farmer in Ping'an Tun Village, Jiangnan Town. Starting in 2000, Wang Jinsheng made deer farming his wealth-building project for developing his business. Six years have passed, and he has not only become a local expert at raising deer, but also the village's leader in getting rich. 

    Wang Jinsheng's success in raising deer relied on a streak of tenacity and scientific breeding techniques. When he first started raising deer, because he did not understand the techniques, he bought all the feed for the fawns. This not only increased the cost of raising them, but also reduced the profits. On top of that, disease prevention was not up to standard, so the survival rate of the fawns was also relatively low. To solve these breeding problems, Wang Jinsheng actively took part in various breeding training courses held at the city and township levels, visited other large-scale breeders to observe and learn, and asked experts for guidance, gradually enriching his breeding experience. Through continuous exploration and learning, Wang Jinsheng can now not only mix feed himself, but has also achieved self-breeding and self-raising, high-yield and intensive raising, keeping the quality of the entire deer herd on a strong development track. Today, the number of deer Wang Jinsheng keeps has grown from more than 20 at the beginning to 120 now, and his annual income from deer products has reached more than 50,000 yuan.
