Gu Min Becomes a National Leader in Rural Youth Entrepreneurship and Wealth Creation

The reporter learned yesterday from the Municipal Youth League Committee that Gu Min, a young man from Wujiang, received the honorary title of 2007 "National Leader in Rural Youth Entrepreneurship and Wealth Creation," and only 2 people in the Suzhou area won this honor.

Gu Min is the general manager of Luxu Forest Nursery in Fenhu Town and began working in seedling cultivation in 1994. He started with a 50,000 yuan loan, cultivating on 4 mu of land. After more than 10 years of arduous entrepreneurship, Luxu Forest Nursery has become an enterprise integrating seedling cultivation, scientific research, and landscaping design and construction. While achieving prosperity through entrepreneurship, he did not forget to give back to society. He helped and led villagers in operating seedlings, provided technology and market access, and also proactively took in local "4050" middle-aged and older people who had difficulty finding employment, as well as people from families in hardship.

The honor was awarded to Gu Min by the Communist Youth League Central Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture. The reporter learned that this selection was intended to commend rural youth with outstanding achievements in implementing the Youth Contributions to Build the New Countryside action, and to encourage them to take root in rural areas, remain dedicated to entrepreneurship, bring prosperity to their hometowns, and serve as role models.
