Australian lobster farming successfully trialed in Hangu District, Binhai, Tianjin
In order to further optimize the freshwater aquaculture structure and help farmers get rich, in July this year the Hangu District Fisheries Bureau introduced 40,000 Australian lobster seedlings, which were placed in three farms for aquaculture trials: Xizhuangtuo Village in Yangjiapo Town, Qiaogu Village in Chadian Town, and Ximeng Village in Hangu District.
Recently it was learned that the district's Australian freshwater lobster farming has succeeded; the large ones are now more than 10 cm, and the small ones are 5 cm, with a survival rate of over 60%. The Australian lobsters have now been moved from open-air ponds to greenhouses for farming, and can be marketed before the Spring Festival. The yield per mu is expected to reach about 3,000 jin, with a per-mu profit of more than 20,000 yuan.
