The "2019 Taiwan International Orchid Show," one of the world's three major orchid shows, will grandly open on March 2. Tainan Deputy Mayor Wang Shih-ssu specially visited Taichung yesterday (the 22nd) to carry out city promotion and was personally received by Taichung Deputy Secretary-General Chang Chin-chai. Deputy Mayor Wang Shih-ssu said she thanked Taichung City for the invitation. In addition to exchanging experience in flower exhibitions, this trip was also meant to recommend the "2019 Taiwan International Orchid Show in Tainan" to people across the country. This year's orchid show takes "the historical scenes of Tainan's 400 years" as its main theme, using more than 200,000 orchids, seven major orchid genera, and more than 800 varieties to create the five major floral exhibition scenes of "Orchid Land - Reading Tainan." People across the country are urged not to miss it and to seize the exhibition period to come to Houbi in Tainan to enjoy the flowers.

Deputy Mayor Wang Shih-ssu said everyone knows that the Taiwan International Orchid Show is held every year. This year it has entered its 15th year and will open in March. It not only attracts more than 200,000 visitors each year, but also successfully creates a trade platform for the international market. In 2018, the number of participating countries grew to 42, export sales amounted to as much as 11 billion yuan, total sales of cultural and creative merchandise exceeded 5 million yuan, and on-site orchid sales also reached 16.95 million yuan, fully demonstrating the strong strength of Taiwan's orchid industry and creating new value for Taiwan's orchids. For Tainan, the orchid show is not only an important exhibition for Tainan, but also the lifeline of the industry. The public is welcome to participate enthusiastically.
