A few years ago, after Zhang Qunying was laid off from the 13th Regiment processing factory, she did not complain about heaven or blame others, but took the initiative and sought her own way out. Through market research, she set her sights on the flower-growing industry and started a flower-growing business. With the help of relatives and friends, Zhang Qunying advanced step by step, growing her flower nursery from small to large, and gradually formed an industrial chain integrating flower seedling raising, cultivation, sales and services. Today, the nearly 100 kinds of flowers cultivated by Zhang Qunying not only meet the needs of the regiment's workers, but the fresh flowers are also sold to 8 surrounding counties and cities around Aksu, with annual income of more than 100,000 yuan.
"Making crafts from gourds was inspired by watching CCTV's Xinwen Lianbo program during this year's Spring Festival," Zhang Qunying told the author. "Now the flower market is gradually saturated, and business is not so easy to do. Only by coming up with novel ideas, offering what others do not have, can there be a way out. That day, I turned on the TV and had just switched the channel to Xinwen Lianbo when I saw the announcer introducing how farmers in Liangshui Town, Liaocheng, Shandong, grew 'treasure gourds' to get rich, and several photos were shown with it, which immediately attracted me."
Zhang Qunying said that after the Spring Festival, she and her husband made several trips to Hotan, Awat and other places where this kind of gourd had been grown to investigate, went online many times to learn about the market conditions for gourd crafts, and acquired a batch of gourds as quickly as possible.
It is understood that in order to develop the gourd craft project, this year Zhang Qunying selected and planted 5 mu of gourds herself, and through a friend's introduction, she also got in touch with a teacher from the ** painting academy to provide gourd pyrography designs for her.
