Cage fish farming brings Chen Guirong an annual income increase of 1 million

    Zhongshan, Guangdong is located in the south-central part of the Pearl River Delta, slightly to the south, at the outlet to the sea of the lower reaches of the West River and North River. It has a coastline of 32.6 km, a sea area of 176 sq km, more than 160,000 mu of shallow sea mudflats, and more than 200,000 mu of inland river water area, giving it exceptional conditions for developing river cage aquaculture.

    In 2004, Chen Guirong, a large-scale farmer in Banfu Town of the city, showed a keen market eye, targeted the river water resources, adapted to local water conditions, invested more than 300,000 yuan, and established a cage aquaculture base in the Modaomen waterway of the West River, installing 100 cages and pioneering river cage fish farming in Zhongshan. The cage fish at this base were high-yielding and highly profitable, with total annual output of about 450 tons, total output value exceeding 7 million yuan, and net profit exceeding 1 million yuan. Chen Guirong dug his first bucket of gold and became a local leader in river cage fish farming.
