Guizhou Province Briefing on the New Rural Commercial Network Autumn Agricultural and Sideline Products Online Purchase and Sales Matchmaking Fair
(Agricultural Wealth Network) In order to further give play to the role of the "New Rural Commercial Network" in "transmitting information via the network and helping farmers solve their problems," the Ministry of Commerce held the "New Rural Commercial Network Autumn Agricultural and Sideline Products Online Purchase and Sales Matchmaking Fair" (hereinafter referred to as the "Matchmaking Fair") from September 15 to October 15, 2006.
In accordance with the relevant requirements of the Ministry of Commerce, and with the joint cooperation of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and the four commerce bureaus of Guiyang, Bijie, Tongren, and Liupanshui, our province designated dedicated personnel for each, and together reported product information covering 13 subcategories and more than 17 varieties, with 28 enterprises submitting, 27 supply listings, and 3 purchase listings.
During this period, the transaction status of the reporting enterprises was tracked many times, and timely contact was made with relevant colleagues at the Ministry of Commerce to report on the transaction status of the province's reporting enterprises.
As of September 28, according to statistics from the Ministry of Commerce Informationization Department, our province ranked 14th nationwide in the amount of information submitted, with 1 actual transaction and 5 intended transactions. Subsequently, relevant departments of the commerce bureaus of the prefectures and cities of our province and the Informationization Division of the Department, through further telephone follow-up, implemented and learned that most of the intended transaction contracts of our province's enterprises were still in detailed discussions with buyers, and samples had been sent as required by the enterprises, with detailed prices and amounts still under negotiation. This shows that the Matchmaking Fair has already achieved preliminary results.
This Matchmaking Fair not only expanded the national visibility of our province's enterprises and helped our province's enterprises, especially agricultural and sideline product enterprises, go out more effectively, but also achieved a new breakthrough in the channels for purchasing and selling agricultural products, shifting from the traditional direct-customer purchase and sales model of the past to an indirect-customer supply and sales model through a modern network bridge, greatly facilitating the broad masses of farmer friends, saving purchase and sales costs, and enabling them to sell products to all parts of the country without leaving home.
The successful holding of this Matchmaking Fair laid a good foundation for our province to carry out the New Rural Information Service Project next year, allowed farmer friends across the province to experience in advance the various advantages of network information transmission, such as high efficiency, speed, and convenience, and truly gave play to the core role of doing practical things for farmers and helping farmers solve their problems.
