Luliang County, Yunnan Officially Launches Modern Pig Industry Technology System Construction
(Agricultural Wealth Network) Recently, Luliang County officially launched the construction of the modern pig industry technology system. Closely focusing on the requirements for building the pig industry technology system, it established a project implementation leading group. In accordance with the regional layout plan for advantageous agricultural products, relying on the strength and scientific and technological resources of the Qujing Comprehensive Experimental Station and the Luliang County Livestock and Poultry Improvement Station, and centering on the development needs of Luliang County's pig industry, with promoting high-quality pig breeds, improving production efficiency, and developing the pig industry as the main line, it determined the main key technical indicators, and built a system closely linked and interconnected from pig production to consumption, from technology research and development to broad promotion and all market links, serving the construction of the modern agricultural industry technology system pig project. It is of great significance for enhancing the capacity for agricultural scientific and technological innovation and strengthening the county's competitiveness in pig farming.
Through the construction of the pig industry technology system, the goal is to enable the county's Dianlu pig breeding test farm and its multiplication farms to have the capacity to provide the market with more than 1 million commercial crossbred piglets per year cumulatively, with various technical and economic indicators reaching an annual pig slaughter rate of more than 180%; a commercial meat pig rate of more than 90%; more than 1.2 million slaughtered meat pigs, with meat output reaching more than 70,000 tons; able sows producing more than 22 piglets per year on average, with more than 20 piglets reared; weaning litter weight at 28 days of age above 70 kg; hybrid meat pig carcass lean meat rate above 55%; feed-to-meat ratio below 2.9:1; pig mortality rate controlled below 3%; supporting technology popularization coverage reaching more than 90%; the contribution rate of science and technology increasing by 6-8 percentage points on the original basis; farmers' income increasing by 20% on the original basis; and comprehensive benefits increasing by 15%.
