Efficient agriculture takes the leading role in autumn sowing in Donghai, Lianyungang
(Agricultural Wealth Network) Recently, after harvesting the 2 mu of rice on his own land in Linhong Village, Huangchuan Town, Donghai County, farmer Wang Yungao promptly plowed and prepared the land, hired 10 local villagers to spend 2 days building greenhouses, and planted tomatoes with a yield of up to 4,000 jin per mu. During this year's autumn sowing, Donghai County, on the basis of stabilizing grain production, adapted measures to local conditions, continuously guided farmers in adjusting the agricultural industrial structure, vigorously developed advantageous industries, and especially developed large-scale efficient agriculture, presenting a gratifying situation in which efficient agriculture takes the leading role.
In order to scientifically adjust the autumn sowing layout, the county used an industrialization concept to plan agricultural development before the autumn harvest, and carefully carried out adjustment planning for four major characteristic industries: high-quality wheat, facility vegetables, high-quality melons and fruits, and fresh-cut flowers. It focused on building the high-quality grain production area in the southeastern section centered on Fangshan, Pingming, and Zhangwan with 950,000 mu of dedicated wheat base, the 35,000 mu large-scale high-quality melon and fruit production area in the northeastern section centered on Tuofeng, Qinghu, Huangchuan, Shiliu, and Shilianghe, and the 20,000 mu large-scale facility vegetable and fresh-cut flower production area in the western section centered on Hongzhuang, Taolin, Shuangdian, and Shanzuokou, making every effort to advance the county's efficient agriculture toward characteristic and large-scale development.
At the same time, based on the county's resource advantages, the county also highlighted the intensity of park construction, with key new development of two 10,000-mu facility vegetable parks in Taolin and Hongzhuang, three 1,000-mu strawberry parks in Huangchuan Jiahe, Nanwan, and Shilianghe Gua'an, one 10,000-mu facility melon park in Tuofeng and Qinghu, one 10,000-mu fresh-cut flower demonstration park in Shuangdian and Shanzuokou, and the Tuofeng 1,000-mu fresh-cut flower demonstration park, among others.
On this basis, the county also actively sought and integrated and optimized various agricultural support funds, gathered the advantages of project funds, and focused on implementing the construction of facility vegetable, flower, melon, and strawberry bases in townships such as Taolin, Shanzuokou, Shuangdian, Qinghu, Huangchuan, Pingming, and Shiliu, which undertake provincial fiscal agricultural support fund projects; the construction of a high-quality, high-yield, and efficient rice demonstration area centered on Zhouxu Village and Bushang Village in Pingming Town, supported by the 2009 central finance for modern agricultural production development; and the construction of major grain and oil production areas in townships such as Pingming, Zhangwan, Shuangdian, and Linian, which implement the Ministry of Agriculture and Jiangsu Province's 10,000-mu high-yield and efficiency creation activities for wheat, rice, and peanuts, rapidly setting off a new development pattern across the county of "every town busy adjusting, every household busy increasing income."
