Lingyuan persists with the "four operations" to develop facility agriculture
(Agricultural Wealth Network) Lingyuan City takes the development of facility agriculture as an important measure to promote farmers' income growth, and through the "four operations" it drives more farmers to develop facility agriculture production. This year the whole city newly developed more than 20,000 mu of facility agriculture.
First, village-built and privately operated. From the perspective of supporting farmers' income growth, Lingyuan City guides and supports villages with the right conditions to develop facility agriculture and lease it to farmers to operate. In more than 20 villages, including Baishizui Village in Goumenzi Town and Naimaying Village in Sihedang Town, more than 1,000 mu of facility agriculture has been newly built since the beginning of this year. After completion, following discussion and decision by the village representative assembly, it is leased to villagers for use through a reverse-contract operation method. This "village-built and privately operated" model implements unified seed supply, unified fertilization, and unified sales, raising the construction standard, while also solving difficulties for scattered farmers such as the high cost of selecting materials for building greenhouses and the waste of time in construction, creating conditions for farmers to increase income through facility agriculture.
Second, enterprise-built and self-operated. By leveraging the capital and technical advantages of leading agricultural enterprises, facility agriculture is actively developed to further improve the enterprises' economic and social benefits. The Ershilipu Modern Agriculture Company in Songzhangzi Town built more than 80 standard greenhouses to grow fresh cut flowers, which not only improved flower quality but also arranged employment for nearly 100 people. The modern agriculture company in Sanshijiazi Town built connected cold greenhouses, arranging employment for 50 people; farmers became white-collar workers and are paid monthly. At present, protected land built with company funding in Lingyuan City has reached more than 1,000 mu, strongly supporting agricultural production.
Third, park-built and exclusively operated. Lingyuan City makes full use of the convenient conditions of parks to develop facility agriculture and build an agricultural facility "brand." After continuously building 40 seedling greenhouses, the Lingyuan Seedling Center this year again built in Sanshijiazi Town the largest greenhouse in western Liaoning, with an area of 5,000 square meters, to produce seedlings, bringing its annual seedling supply capacity to 30 million plants and driving more than 4,000 farming households to engage in greenhouse production. The center also built multiple demonstration greenhouses to promote new technologies and new varieties, making Lingyuan the largest seedling-raising base in western Liaoning.
Fourth, joint construction and joint operation by farmers' specialized cooperative organizations. In order to improve the degree of farmers' organization, Lingyuan City adopts the form of joint construction and joint operation to develop facility agriculture. On the basis of more than 100 greenhouse plots built last year, the Siguanyingzi Green Vegetable Professional Cooperative this year newly built 15 greenhouses, which have now been completed and put into production. In the Fanzhangzi green pepper production cooperative in Songzhangzi Town, nearly 1,000 farming households have joined the cooperative, jointly developing facility agriculture mainly to produce green peppers and eggplants, with products sold to more than 20 cities across the country.
