Canadian government to invest CAD 77.8 million in ethanol plant
(Agricultural Wealth Network)    The Canadian government said this week that it will invest CAD 77.75 million over the next seven years in an ethanol plant in Saskatchewan.

Natural Resources Canada said the funds are for the Terra Grain Fuels ethanol plant in the Belle Plaine area of Saskatchewan, as part of the federal government's biofuel program.

The Terra Grain Fuels ethanol plant has an annual production capacity of 150 million litres, with wheat as its main feedstock.

The Canadian government plans to invest CAD 1.5 billion through the biofuel program over the next nine years. The government's Economic Action Plan will also provide CAD 1 billion to the Clean Energy Fund and CAD 1 billion to the Green Infrastructure Fund, providing additional economic stimulus and promoting the sustainable development of clean and efficient energy.
