Thai Cabinet Approves Funding to Implement Agricultural Product Price Guarantee Program

(Agricultural Wealth Network) According to Thailand's "World Journal" report on November 12, the Thai Cabinet meeting on the 11th approved the allocation of funds to the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives for the 2009/2010 production season to implement the agricultural product price guarantee program. An estimated 4.47 million farmers are expected to participate in the program, with 1.7 billion baht in payments. As of September 30 this year, the Thai government had implemented a total of 14 agricultural product purchase or price guarantee programs, with total payments of 214.4 billion baht.
