Villagers in Laozhang Village, Henan Busy Getting Rich by Learning Science and Technology

(Agricultural Wealth Network)    Located deep in the mountains, Laozhang Village in Luanchuan County, Luoyang City, is a demonstration village for circular agriculture construction under the Luoyang Municipal Agriculture Bureau. Many villagers in the village grow medicinal fungi and edible fungi, but the farmers need to improve their edible fungus cultivation techniques. To fulfill the farmers' wishes, the Information Center of the Luoyang Municipal Agriculture Bureau purchased a complete set of "Edible Technology Series Cultivation Techniques" DVDs from the Farmers' Science and Technology Training Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, and hired edible fungus technology experts from across the city with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience to conduct edible fungus technology training in the village. When the villagers sat in the spacious and bright classroom of the new rural construction, watching the illustrated content displayed through modern projection equipment, they were full of interest. Some villagers arrived early to wait for class two days in a row, and some even attended class while holding their babies. Through the training, the farmers gained a further grasp of edible fungus cultivation techniques, and at the same time their enthusiasm for developing new varieties was stimulated. 

The Information Center of the Luoyang Agriculture Bureau also gave the villagers 40 free sets of "600 Questions on Farmers Getting Rich" and more than 100 copies of "Farmers' Digest" books, which were warmly welcomed by the villagers.
