Guangxi to Establish a Super Hybrid Rice Seed Production Base
(Agricultural Wealth Network) Recently, the China National Hybrid Rice Research and Development Center, the Autonomous Region Department of Agriculture, and Guangxi Yuanshi Technology Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement at Liyuan Villa to jointly advance rice variety research and promotion work.
Reporters learned from the signing ceremony that, as China's hybrid rice research institution with the strongest technical strength and the greatest influence, the China National Hybrid Rice Research and Development Center will, with strong support from the Autonomous Region Department of Agriculture, join hands with Guangxi Yuanshi Technology Co., Ltd. to establish a super hybrid rice seed production base in Guangxi and build the "China National Hybrid Rice Research and Development Center ASEAN Branch Center." This center project and the "Yuan Longping ASEAN Agricultural Science and Technology Expo Park" project are both to be implemented by Guangxi Yuanshi Technology Co., Ltd.
According to the agreement, the Autonomous Region Department of Agriculture will also support the China National Hybrid Rice Research and Development Center and Guangxi Yuanshi Technology Co., Ltd. in strengthening the national third-phase super rice breeding work, especially the breeding of super hybrid rice suitable for planting in Guangxi and ASEAN countries. The three parties will also jointly establish five 100-mu contiguous demonstration zones for national third-phase super rice in Guangxi.
