Soybean high-yield creation sets a new record for soybean yield in Yuanyang, Yunnan
(Agricultural Wealth Network) In accordance with the requirements of the "Yunnan Province Grain and Oil Crop Yield Measurement and Acceptance Measures," the Agricultural Bureau, Finance Bureau, Statistics Bureau, Science and Technology Bureau, along with township leaders and professional technicians in the project area, organized a soybean high-yield creation self-measured yield working group and expert group to conduct field theoretical yield measurement and actual harvest yield measurement for the Ministry of Agriculture and Yunnan Province soybean high-yield creation project undertaken by Yuanyang County.
From October 8 to October 29, 2009, the working group and expert group, without shirking hardship, conducted theoretical yield measurement and actual harvest yield measurement for the county's project layout points in the four townships of Nansha, Xinjie, Majie, and Ganiang, covering 16 village committees, 91 village groups, the ten-thousand-mu demonstration area, the thousand-mu demonstration section, and the hundred-mu core area. After yield measurement, the yields all reached the target tasks. Among them: the average theoretical yield of the ten-thousand-mu demonstration area was 125.63 kg/mu, an increase of 26.5 kg per mu or 26.7% compared with the theoretical yield of 99.13 kg/mu in the non-model area; the weighted average actual harvest yield per unit area was 116.2 kg/mu, an increase of 16.2 kg per mu or 16.2% compared with the target yield of 100 kg/mu; and an increase of 20.7 kg per mu or 21.7% compared with the weighted average yield of 95.5 kg/mu in the non-model area. The average theoretical yield of the thousand-mu demonstration section was 158.5 kg/mu; the weighted average actual harvest yield per unit area was 160.32 kg, an increase of 10.32 kg per mu or 6.9% compared with the target yield of 150 kg/mu. The average theoretical yield of the hundred-mu core area was 220.4 kg/mu; the weighted average actual harvest yield per unit area was 214.13 kg, an increase of 14.13 kg per mu or 7.1% compared with the target yield of 200 kg/mu.
After yield measurement, the working group and expert group unanimously agreed that Yuanyang County's soybean high-yield creation work was solid and the measures were appropriate. The yields fully reached the target tasks of the high-yield creation activity, effectively increased the economic benefits of the people in the project area, and improved the county's scientific planting and management level of soybean production. We will carefully summarize the experience and shortcomings of this soybean high-yield creation activity, identify and fill gaps, further improve the county's high-yield creation activities for grain and cash crops, and promote the county's agricultural production toward the goals of industrialization, standardization, and normalization.
