Xiji County, Ningxia: Land Transfer Offers Broad "Money" Prospects
(Agricultural Wealth Network) "Leasing it out for management increases the benefit by more than 200 yuan per mu, double that of growing crops." Recently, Huang Fengbiao, a villager approaching seventy from Tuanzhuang Village, Xinglong Town, was overjoyed when talking about the income from land transfer. Xiji County uses preferential policies to guide and support enterprises inside and outside the county to participate in land transfer, giving farmers broad "money" prospects for increasing income and becoming wealthy.
"Land transfer is a good way to integrate land resources and develop modern agriculture, and a good lever for increasing farmers' income and accelerating the building of a new socialist countryside in mountainous areas," said Ding Weidong, member of the Standing Committee of the Guyuan Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Xiji County Party Committee. Last year, after hearing that Hualin Company, a leading "agriculture-oriented" enterprise from Fujian Province, planned to build a vegetable planting base in Ningxia, the county immediately formed a special team to study the feasibility of locating the base locally, and the main leaders repeatedly led teams to visit the investor, making a commitment to provide free supporting water, roads, canals and wells for the base. After inspection, Lin Shuiying, general manager of Hualin Company, finally decided to invest 220 million yuan in Xiji, leasing farmers' land at 500 yuan per mu for agricultural development and deep processing of agricultural and sideline products. This year, 10 million yuan has been invested to build a cold storage facility, and 60 million yuan has been invested to build 4 vegetable planting bases with a total area of 5,000 mu in Jiqiang Town and Xinglong Town. Wang Jie, a villager from Huangcha Village, Xinglong Town, handed all 3 mu of his land to Hualin Company for management and worked locally for Hualin Company himself, earning more than 1,000 yuan per month. Huangjiachuan Village in Jiqiang Town has more than 2,500 mu of land participating in the transfer. Village Party secretary Zhang Zhanji said: "In the past, farmers revolved around the land all year round, seeing only sweat but no profit. Now the net income per mu has doubled, and together with local employment income, the more than 140 households participating in land transfer have increased their income by 10,000 yuan per household on average."
At the same time, the local enterprise Jiali Company has also rented nearly 6,000 mu of farmers' land in 5 villages in Malian Township to build a potato seed potato base. Next year, the planting bases of both Hualin Company and Jiali Company will continue to expand.
