Tibet rural distance education project begins construction

Recently, the preliminary review meeting for the Tibet rural party members and cadres modern distance education infrastructure equipment project was held in Lhasa, marking the official start of construction of the "Tibet Rural Party Members and Cadres Modern Distance Education Project" undertaken by China Mobile Tibet Company. At the review meeting, China Mobile Tibet Company stated that it will complete the construction of 1000 village nodes before December 31 of this year.

The Tibet Autonomous Region rural party members and cadres modern distance education infrastructure project is the first informationization construction project in Tibet covering all village-level administrative units, and is also the only rural informationization project built and completed exclusively by China Mobile. It plays an important role in accelerating the construction of a new socialist countryside on the plateau, ensuring national security and the long-term stability and peace of Tibet. The project requires the construction of 1 autonomous region-level platform, 7 prefecture- and city-level platforms, and 46 county-level platforms, to achieve access for 4447 terminal sites via wired and wireless means.

China Mobile Tibet Company attaches great importance to the rural distance education project and has designated this project as the "No. 1 Project". In order to ensure the smooth implementation of the project, Tibet Company needs to invest approximately 4 billion yuan for transmission lines, equipment room renovation and other projects. The China Mobile Group Corporation, from the political height of supporting Tibet's development and safeguarding Tibet's stability, has given full understanding and great importance to the Tibet rural distance education project, and has made every effort to resolve the funding issues for the project construction. At the same time, Tibet Company, despite funds and personnel not yet being in place, has actively coordinated existing resources, worked hard to create conditions, and dispatched more than 60 design teams to comprehensively carry out preliminary survey and design, pre-purchase planning and various other preparatory work.
