Sanmen New Farmer Blog Village in Taizhou Honored as a Star of Confidence in China's Internet

Sanmen, November 9 (Zhejiang Daily) - The 2009 China Internet Conference recently concluded at the Beijing International Convention Center, where the conference selected 10 "Stars of China's Internet Power" and 10 "Stars of Confidence in China's Internet." The Sanmen New Farmer Blog Village, founded by the Organization Department of the CPC Sanmen County Committee, was awarded the title of "Star of Confidence in China's Internet," joining Alibaba of our province on the national list of "Double Ten Star" enterprise websites.

In March 2007, the Organization Department of the CPC Sanmen County Committee, relying on the distance education network, created the New Farmer Blog Village website to encourage farmers throughout the county to set up blogs on the site. The website became a new platform for the county's farmers to market their products and exchange farming and breeding techniques. It is understood that since the website began operating more than two years ago, total visits have reached over 700,000, with more than 140 farmer professional cooperatives and over 1,000 farmers having set up blogs on the website, driving more than 50,000 farm households in the county to start businesses and prosper, and giving rise to a large number of advanced examples of farmer entrepreneurship, including Kefei Steamed Buns, Shenyuan Watermelons and Qiushui Flowers and Fruits.
