Distance education at Cheshang Forest Farm helps farmers increase income and become prosperous
Cheshang Forest Farm in Yifeng County, Jiangxi Province, gives full play to the service role of the modern distance education network for Party members and cadres, focuses on training rural Party members, cadres and the masses in political theory and agricultural technical knowledge, and strives to make distance education a "booster" for rural study and practice activities.
Zhang Chunlin, a villager from Huzi Village, mastered breeding techniques by watching distance education programs. He raises more than a thousand chickens and ducks, and can achieve a net income of more than 40,000 yuan a year; Deng Jianming, a villager from Zhiyuan Village, was deeply inspired after seeing the development history of a large breeding household in Sichuan Province through distance education. He took the initiative to mobilize and lead villagers to invest 500,000 yuan to build a pig farm covering an area of about two mu in the village. At present, the pig farm has more than 400 pigs on hand (including 15 breeding original stock sows), and more than 300 fattening pigs are marketed annually, with an expected annual profit of more than 200,000 yuan. Deng Jianming has also become a locally well-known "pig raising expert." At the same time, he has actively held practical technical training classes for planting and breeding, leading the people of several surrounding villages onto the path of increasing income and becoming prosperous. At present, 6 villages in the farm have achieved distance education, the education coverage rate for Party members and the masses has reached 100%, and more than 30 Party members and masses have increased their income and become prosperous by relying on distance education.
