Venezuelan government nationalizes 2 coffee production companies

   According to a November 13, 2009 report by The Miami Herald citing Bolivarian News Agency, Venezuelan President Chavez ordered the nationalization of two companies, including Fama de America, Venezuela's largest coffee production company. Fama de America and another coffee company, Cafea, control 80% of the local coffee market.
