Senegal peanut purchasing to start on November 15

According to information from Senegal's Ministry of Agriculture and Aquaculture, this year's peanut purchasing will begin on November 15. According to forecasts, this year's peanut production will break the historical record, reaching 1.172 million tons. The ensuing problem is that the purchasing capacity of Senegal's three peanut purchasing companies () is only 300,000 tons, while domestic peanut consumption in Senegal is estimated at 400,000 tons, with the remainder to be absorbed through informal channels. To ensure a good sales season this year, the Ministry of Agriculture will hold multiple mobilization events in some rural communities to encourage farmers to store peanut seeds.
