Iran's "World" newspaper reported on November 15 that the latest statistical report from the World Food and Agriculture Organization shows that in 2009, Iran had a bumper agricultural harvest, producing 19 million tons of grain, an increase of 3.7 million tons, up 25% year on year. Of this, wheat accounted for 13 million tons, rice 2.8 million tons, and other grain crops 3.2 million tons.

According to the statistical report, in 2008, due to drought and a late spring cold snap, Iran's grain output

In 2008, Iran's wheat output was 9.8 million tons, rice output was 2.6 million tons, and other grain crop output was 2.9 million tons.
