Senegal expects a bumper grain harvest this year, with joy tempered by worry

According to Senegal's Ministry of Agriculture, grain crops have grown well this year and a bumper harvest is expected. So far, 739,000 tons of millet, 544,000 tons of corn and 508,000 tons of paddy rice have been harvested. Because rice output increased this season, rice imports are expected to fall by 24%. A bumper grain harvest is certainly cause for joy, but the problem that worries the agricultural authorities most is insufficient capacity for processing agricultural products.
