India's exports of man-made fibers and other textiles to Arab countries continue to grow
Vinod K. Ladia, vice chairman of the Synthetic and Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) of India, said over the weekend that India's exports of man-made fiber and cotton-blended textiles to Saudi Arabia are continuing to grow, and the upcoming Hajj season is a good time for exports. At a buyer-seller meeting organized by the Synthetic and Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) at the Trident Hotel, delegation leader Ladia said India's textile exports to Saudi Arabia in 2009 are expected to exceed 200 million USD, after exports of 129 million USD last year, an increase of 20% over the previous year.

He said there is enormous room for establishing joint ventures in the textile sector, and joint ventures can benefit both sides. The potential is huge, and the response of local businessmen left a deep impression on the Indian delegation.

The Indian delegation visited Riyadh earlier; the delegation included 22 member companies of SRTEPC. At the buyer-seller meeting, the delegation displayed a variety of man-made textile products, including fabrics and finished goods.

India and Saudi Arabia have close trade relations, and the history of trade ties between the two countries can be traced back hundreds of years.

In recent years, this relationship has been further strengthened, which in turn has greatly strengthened the economic and trade relations between the two countries.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is India's sixth-largest market for man-made fiber textile products.
