[Other] Malaysia's biodiesel exports fell 57% in October
Dow Jones Kuala Lumpur news, according to data released by the Malaysian Fuel Oil Association, due to reduced fuel demand from Europe and the United States in winter, Malaysia's biodiesel exports in October this year not only decreased 36% from 15,278 tons in the same month last year, but also shrank 57% from 22,765 tons in September this year, reaching only 9,798 tons.

However, biodiesel exports from January to October this year have already reached 200,408 tons, exceeding the full-year 2008 export volume of 182,108 tons.

But in the past 10 months, not all of the increase in Malaysian palm diesel production was exported to Europe, because generally speaking, biodiesel has a higher freezing point than other oils, so it is not suitable for blending with other oils in winter, and therefore demand for biodiesel from the United States and Europe has decreased.
