Australia wheat pool sales return estimate unchanged
AWB Ltd. said Monday that it has kept its benchmark wheat sales return estimate for 2009/10 unchanged, as higher U.S. wheat futures prices offset the impact of a stronger Australian dollar.
AWB said the sales return estimate for premium white wheat (10.5% protein content) in the eastern Australian pool is AUD 255 per tonne, FOB. The wheat sales return estimate for the western pool is AUD 250 per tonne.
The 2008/09 (April to March of the following year) wheat sales return estimate for the western pool is AUD 325 per tonne, unchanged from earlier, while the wheat sales return estimate for the eastern pool is also steady at AUD 330.
The fundamental situation in the global wheat market remains unchanged, with ample supply and limited demand. Overseas buyers are closely watching the progress of the Australian wheat harvest.
