Brazil: Rain expected this week in the main sugarcane producing regions of the south-central area
Dow Jones report Meteorological reports say that rain will occur this week in the main sugarcane producing regions of south-central Brazil. But afternoon rainfall will not interrupt the harvest.
This week, rain in the south-central sugarcane producing regions will mainly occur later in the day, so sugarcane harvesting will continue for most of the daytime hours.
For example, in northern Sao Paulo, 12 mm of rain is expected on Monday and lighter rain is expected during the week.
Crushing at sugar mills in the south-central area will continue until around December.
Meteorological agencies say the weather is likely to deteriorate from November 20 to the end of the month.
It is said that a cold front will bring heavier rain to Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais and Parana state.
