Estimated sales returns from Australia's wheat pools, AWB keeps them unchanged
AWB keeps its estimated sales returns from Australia's wheat pools unchanged
Australia's AWB said on November 16 that it is keeping its estimated sales returns for benchmark wheat for the 2009/10 season unchanged, as rising US wheat futures prices offset the impact of a stronger Australian dollar.
AWB said the estimated sales return for premium white wheat (10.5% protein content) in the eastern Australian pool is 255 Australian dollars per tonne, FOB. The estimated sales return for wheat in the western pool is 250 Australian dollars per tonne.
The estimated sales return for wheat in the western pool for the 2008/09 season (April to March of the following year) is 325 Australian dollars per tonne, unchanged from earlier, while the estimated sales return for wheat in the eastern pool is also steady at 330 Australian dollars.
The fundamentals of the global wheat market still show no improvement at all, with ample supply and limited demand. Overseas buyers are closely watching the progress of Australia's wheat harvest.
