Severe shortage of raw shrimp in Vietnam's Mekong Delta
According to a November 17 report by Vietnam's Thanh Nien newspaper, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers said that for more than half a month, the supply of raw shrimp to seafood processing enterprises in Vietnam's Mekong Delta region has dropped sharply. Kim Anh Co., Ltd. in Soc Trang Province said that last month the company purchased 50 tons of raw shrimp per day, but now it can only purchase 10 tons per day. At present, the price of raw shrimp has risen by 15,000-20,000 dong/kg.
