Xianju chicken sells for 200 million yuan a year, why is it so popular?

  Xianju chicken is a famous local breed of chicken in China. In the "Poultry Breed Records of China" edited by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Xianju chicken ranks first, so it is hailed as the "No. 1 chicken of China".
Yesterday, taking advantage of the opening of the Provincial Agricultural Expo, Xianju County leaders and the head of the Taizhou Municipal Agriculture Bureau made a special trip to Hangzhou to promote the Lishide-brand "No. 1 chicken of China". 
The main characteristics of Xianju chicken are its relatively small body size, compact feathers, and upturned head and tail, so it is also called the "yuanbao" chicken. The chickens are raised free-range ecologically, have robust constitutions, and have very good egg-laying performance: in one laying year they can lay 220 eggs. 
In recent years, the Xianju chicken industry has developed rapidly. In the 2009 assessment of the value of China's regional public brands of agricultural products, the brand value of Xianju chicken was 723 million yuan. 
This year, the county's Xianju chicken stock is nearly 5 million birds, and the total output value is expected to reach 200 million yuan.
