Leech (bloodsucker) farming may become the next hot trend after crayfish
In 2011, leech prices soared all the way, with the purchase price of live leeches reaching 60-70 yuan per jin. In recent years, due to the year-by-year decline of wild leech resources and the medicinal value of leeches, the market supply-demand relationship for leeches has become tight. In recent years, many people have begun to develop the leech farming industry, and a vanguard of leech farmers has emerged in places such as Zhejiang and Anhui. Now, with traditional farming species facing sluggish market conditions, many farmers have also set their sights on this relatively new leech farming project. Recently, the China Aquaculture Network has also launched dedicated leech farming information services based on the needs of the farming market, providing farmers with an information service and exchange platform to learn about and study bloodsucker farming.
