What is the investment cost for small-scale farmers to farm eel?

Take 20 farming cement ponds as an example for the investment in eel farming.
First, land rent. In rural areas, farming costs about 2000-5000 or more per mu per year. For a small operation, renting two mu of land is enough. That is about 10000.

Second, the cost of building ponds. Build them with bricks. Using single-brick construction, 70 to 80 bricks per sq m. A 20 sq m pond uses more than 1500 bricks. Each brick, including purchase, transport, and so on, comes to about 0.6 yuan. Building one pond then costs about 800 to 900 yuan. Adding labor, cement, sand, polishing, and so on, one pond costs about 1200 yuan. For 20 ponds, even with great thrift, it takes about 25000. This does not even include purification ponds, sewage ponds, and various other types of ponds. If those are added, then at least more than 30000 is needed.

Third, you must choose a place with a water source and convenient water use, otherwise using tap water will make the cost even more enormous. Now each ton of water costs about a bit more than 4 yuan per ton, and of course the price differs from place to place. If tap water is used, each pond uses about more than 12 tons per month. For 20 ponds, that is 240 tons of water, and the water bill alone is more than 1000 per month.

Fourth, the cost of buying seed stock. Calculated at 20 grams each and 1.5 kg per sq m, 20 ponds each 20 sq m in size, that is 400 sq m, requiring 600 kg of eel seed stock. Each kg of eel seed stock is about 60 to 80 yuan, that is about 36000 yuan. This does not count many factors such as death on the road, disease, and so on. Therefore, at least about 50 kg more must be bought, that is 3000 yuan. The cost of buying eel seed stock alone reaches at least about 40000 yuan. This does not count deaths from feeding methods, and so on. If feeding is poor, the cost is even greater. Especially in some places, the price of seed stock is higher.

Fifth, feed, various films needed in summer, and so on. Generally feeding until the Chinese New Year, the cost within this half year is about 6000 yuan.

Sixth, labor and other costs. At night someone must watch over them. If people are hired, each person costs about 1000 yuan per month.

Seventh, installing various pipes, walls, small sheds, surrounding power sources, and so on. This is very important. The small shed is used for people to live in and watch over, the wall needs no explanation, and the pipes even less so. Adding labor, cement, sand, bricks, and so on, at least 15000——20000 yuan is needed.
Eighth, there are also some necessary expenses, which will not be listed one by one here. If you plan to build 20 ponds, then no matter what, even at the absolute lowest bottom line, you must prepare more than 120000 yuan in cash. It is best to have more to meet unexpected needs.
