Economic benefit analysis of artificial rice field eel farming
Artificially farmed rice field eels are plump and have bright body color. Because they are fed more natural baits such as earthworms, fly maggots and trash fish, the eel meat tastes more delicious and is more nutritious.
Rice field eel farming has become a hot topic in current aquaculture. According to relevant data, the current annual domestic market demand is nearly 3 million tons, 60 times that of the soft-shelled turtle market. Japan and South Korea need to import 200,000 tons each year, and demand in Hong Kong, China and Macao, China is also showing an upward trend. Wild rice field eel resources, apart from certain distributions in Sichuan, Hunan and Hubei, have been largely destroyed in other regions, and are expected to gradually die out after 4~5 years. The growth in demand and the reduction in resources have made the market supply of rice field eels increasingly tight, and prices have steadily risen. In winter and spring, the daily supply-demand gap in coastal cities reaches more than 100 tons. The wholesale price of rice field eels weighing more than 100 g each reaches 60~70 yuan per kg, those over 50 g reach 40~50 yuan, and those under 50 g reach 20~30 yuan. The high market price has brought huge profit space to rice field eel farming. We will only make a rough estimate of the economic benefits of rice field eel farming using the method of intensive culture in small ponds.
1. Purchasing wild rice field eels for temporary holding. Using the ecological "intensive culture in small ponds" technology of Dazhong Farming Company, carrying out rice field eel farming has very high economic benefits. We take one 10 sq m farming pond as an example to roughly estimate the economic benefits of rice field eel farming:
1. Pond construction cost 200 yuan;
2. Purchasing 20 kg of wild rice field eels, calculated at 15 yuan per kg for medium-sized rice field eels in summer (30-50 g each), costs 300 yuan;
⟧ 3. After 5-8 months of rearing, the body weight of rice field eels can increase by 3-5 times. We calculate by a 3-fold weight gain, so 20 kg of rice field eels can gain 60 kg. Calculated at a feed cost of 8 yuan for every 1 kg of weight gain of rice field eels (in practice, using large amounts of fly maggots, earthworms, etc. would not require so much), the feed cost required is 480 yuan;
4. Medicine and other expenses are calculated at 100 yuan. The total cost of the above 4 items is 1080 yuan. What is obtained is 80 kg of large-sized rice field eels (more than 100 g each). Calculated at the medium price for large-sized rice field eels purchased in the market in winter and spring (40 yuan per kg), the income can be 3200 yuan, and the input-output ratio is 1:2. Specifically, one 10 sq m farming pond, during several months of farming, can create a profit of more than 2000 yuan (200 yuan per sq m). For an ordinary farming household, taking the construction of 50 farming ponds as an example, the income can reach more than 100,000 yuan.
2. Introducing improved rice field eel breeds for self-breeding and self-raising. According to our experience, introducing 1 kg of breeding eels can naturally breed 3000~5000 fry. Calculating by an actual farming survival of 3000 fry, raising each to 100 g can produce 300 kg of large-sized commercial rice field eels. Calculated at 40 yuan/kg, the income can be 12000 yuan. The investment only requires:
1. Breeding stock introduction fee 160 yuan,
2. Construction cost of a 5 sq m breeding pond 100 yuan,
3. Feed cost 2000 yuan (by cultivating fly maggots and earthworms oneself and using animal offal supplemented with part of fish feed, the feed cost can be greatly reduced), 4. Construction cost of a 50 sq m standard cement pond 1000 yuan,
5. Medicine and other expenses 200 yuan. The total cost of the above 5 items is 3460 yuan. The net profit obtainable is 8540 yuan. The farming pond can be used for more than 20 years, and continued farming will bring higher benefits. If local and personal conditions permit, moderate-scale development will bring even better benefits.
Who says breeding rice field eel fry is difficult? Our company's annual output of bred eel fry reaches 300,000-500,000. If all are raised to 100 g each for commercial market release, then 30-50 tons of commercial eels can be produced.
Experienced farming households using natural reproduction to produce eel fry can meet the needs of their own commercial production.
