Why are tableware made from crop straw favored?

Recently, using crop straw as raw material, a production line producing recyclable and degradable disposable tableware was officially put into operation in Taizi Town, Zouping County. According to reports, this production line uses mechanical clean pulping technology instead of chemical straw pulp production, adds no chemical agents, is environmentally friendly and pollution-free, and the production water is recycled. There are 14 product types. Because they are clean, durable, convenient and green, they are exported to Europe and the United States and are deeply welcomed by the market. This production line consumes more than 80,000 tons of crop straw annually, with a purchase price of 560 yuan per ton, increasing surrounding farmers' income from straw by more than 40 million yuan.
