It is understood that these student members come from different grades and different majors at Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University. The university funded the construction of the rabbit hutch, providing this entrepreneurship platform for the students. According to reports, the number of rabbits in the hutch reached 500 at its peak. Members often took turns on duty in their spare time to feed the rabbits. From 6:30 to 7 in the morning, someone had to clean the hutch and feed the rabbits. From 5:30 to 6 in the evening, the members also had to clean the hutch, clear land and plant grass, observe the rabbits' growth, and properly register all kinds of data. At night, the male students split shifts for night duty and were responsible for adding forage. The members also often used their weekends to sell young rabbits.
Joining the student entrepreneurship cooperative, raising rabbits was certainly not everyone's final goal. Member Lin Qingyu said she majored in animal medicine and hoped that by raising rabbits she could better absorb the theoretical knowledge from books. Classmate Lin Shan, from the animal science major, said he was quite interested in modern ecological circular farming and wanted to use rabbit manure to make biogas and carry out experiments in fully harmless farming.
While the reporter was conducting the interview, a group of students from Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Fujian Medical University walked into the entrepreneurship park, hoping to cooperate with the student entrepreneurship cooperative of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University to explore new techniques for raising rabbits with Chinese herbal medicine.
