Koi fish winter farming proves highly popular with residents

A reporter learned today (November 22) at a koi farm in Dalang that koi have a fairly wide tolerance for water temperature, and cold weather has little effect on them, making them quite popular with residents.
At this koi farm, the reporter saw an endless stream of customers coming to buy koi. Mr. Zhang, a fish-keeping enthusiast who happened to be in town from Liaoning on business, made a special trip here to pick out some koi to take back and raise as ornamental fish.
Mr. Zhang: “I've been keeping fish since childhood, for over ten or twenty years now. I think these koi are raised very well and can add a lot of joy to our lives.”
The person in charge of the farm said that koi are temperate freshwater fish with a fairly wide tolerance for water temperature; as long as the water does not freeze, they will not die of cold, but attention must be paid to feeding.
A person in charge of a koi farm: “Koi are not very particular about water temperature; they can survive as long as the temperature is not below 4 degrees. If the temperature difference is relatively large, exceeding 5 degrees, we generally recommend stopping feeding or reducing the number of feedings.”
It is understood that in winter, koi have low requirements for water quality and do not need frequent water changes; as long as regular disinfection is done, they can get through the winter safely.
