At present, the annual revenue of leisure agriculture nationwide has exceeded 120 billion yuan, with more than 400 million visits per year, benefiting 15 million farmers. Among these, there are more than 1.5 million nongjiale (farmhouse entertainment) establishments and more than 18,000 leisure agriculture parks above designated size. In many places, the development of leisure agriculture has accelerated the restructuring of the rural economy, enriched the content of modern agriculture construction, and given a tremendous boost to the building of a new countryside and the coordinated development of urban and rural areas.
Chen Xiaohua emphasized that during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, all localities should focus on five types of areas: the surroundings of large and medium-sized cities, the surroundings of scenic spots, natural ecological areas near mountains and rivers and along grasslands, ethnic minority areas, and traditional specialty farming areas, adapting measures to local conditions and carrying out overall planning, so as to achieve better and faster development of leisure agriculture and rural tourism.
On the afternoon of November 21, guests invited to Ningguo took part in a leisure agriculture and rural tourism experience tour. The guests visited scenic spots including the China Tree Exposition Garden, Longge Village in Qinglong Township, and Chujiatan Natural Village, tasted specialty tourism snacks, and experienced activities such as pounding glutinous rice cakes and making rice cakes.
