In Wang Zhijiang's laying hen farm in Yangxi Village, Tangshan Town, Shiqian County, Wang Zhijiang and his wife Li Yingfeng are busy every day, scattering feed into one trough after another and picking eggs out of one egg trough after another…… This boss, who spent more than ten years in the construction industry in Hangzhou, has now returned to his hometown to take up laying hen farming.

“When I came home from Hangzhou for the Spring Festival last year, I heard that laying hen farming in Benzhuang Town was doing quite well, so I went to take a look. I found that the laying hen farming project had very good market prospects, so when I came back I set about building this farm.” With hopes of prosperity, Wang Zhijiang explained his reason for returning home to start a business. “Coming home to start a business can both make money and let me look after the children and take care of the family.”

At the beginning of this year, 33-year-old Wang Zhijiang resolutely turned the good farmland to the left of his house into a farm. After the site was built, in June of this year he also spent 250,000 yuan to buy 5,000 chicks from Chongqing at 3.8 yuan per bird plus 1 yuan for vaccination. At the same time, he also bought a large number of books on laying hen farming to learn farming techniques.

While picking eggs, Wang Zhijiang told the reporter that thanks to careful management and proper techniques, the chicks brought in in June have now gradually entered the laying period. Now 11 boxes of eggs can be collected each time, and although the market is currently a bit weak, there is still a net income of 600——700 yuan every day. If they enter the high-yield period, the daily net income should be more than 1,000 yuan.

As he spoke, he took us to his packing workshop. In the room were the eggs taken down from the shelves that very day. Holding an egg, he said, the eggs produced by my raising method are large and uniform. At present, besides being sold in the local market, they are also sold as far away as Tongren, Sinan, Guiyang and other places. The next step will be to join the farming association and sell eggs to coastal areas such as Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

Wang Zhijiang is very clear about his development goals. While managing his existing farming well, Wang Zhijiang plans to invest another 500,000 yuan next year to expand the scale and raise another 10,000 laying hens, relying on laying hens to stride onto the road to moderate prosperity.
