Ecological circular farming achieves multiple wins

"I use pig manure as biogas material, biogas residue as fertilizer for fruit trees, and biogas slurry as fertilizer for raising fish. Each year I save more than 3,000 yuan in production costs and increase my net income by about 10,000 yuan." Yesterday, in the ecological livestock breeding community of Dingshan Village, large-scale pig farmer Xiao Jixian pointed to row after row of pig pens and enthusiastically introduced them to passersby.

This is a model of the ecological farming pattern for poultry and livestock in Yinzu. Today, many farming households in Yinzu rely on the forestry and fruit industry, use biogas as a link, and organically combine livestock breeding with crop cultivation, achieving circular resource use and forming a virtuous development path in which more livestock means more fertilizer, more fertilizer means more fruit, and more fruit means more money.

It is understood that Yinzu has developed more than 20 ecological livestock and poultry breeding communities, respectively established in areas such as barren hills, barren slopes and orchards far from the town area, schools, residential areas and other places with good climate, ecological and water quality conditions. Each large breeding and planting household adheres to combining livestock and poultry breeding with environmental protection, returns manure to orchards and fields, and prevents environmental pollution. At the same time, they carry out site and housing construction, feeding management and livestock and poultry epidemic prevention according to unified planning, achieving regional large-scale development.

At present, the town has built 7 ecological pig farms, with a pen area of 8,600 sq m and an annual slaughter of more than 10,000 pigs; built 5 poultry farms, with an annual slaughter of 30,000 birds; built 3 Boer goat farms, renovated and expanded 1,000 sq m of pens, and introduced 150 breeding goats; built 580 biogas digesters, collecting more than 500 tons of pig, cattle and sheep manure annually, initially forming ecological circular breeding models such as the "livestock—biogas—fruit" model in Dongkou, Nanshan, Jiangfan and Bazhuang, the "livestock—biogas—vegetables" and "livestock—biogas—grain" models in Tangxia, Dingshan and Xinwu, and the "livestock—biogas—fish" model in Jitang, Huashi and Wuzhuang.
