Planting Strawberries in Vineyards Increases Yield and Boosts Profit

Contract the idle vineyard land, cover it with plastic film, connect drip irrigation pipes, and then lay a layer of waterproof film on the ground, and a winter strawberry planting greenhouse is converted and completed. But what impact does a greenhouse converted from vineyard land have on the growth, yield and quality of strawberries? Let's take a look.

According to reports, the biggest feature of the multi-span greenhouse built on vineyard land is its suitable temperature, which allows strawberries to make full use of soil fertility and light energy, with even lighting, early fruiting, high yield and a long ripening period, thus ensuring the quality and taste of the strawberries. It can also ensure the survival rate of strawberries. In strawberry greenhouses of ordinary specifications, due to the small area and limited space, it is easy for the greenhouse to become hot and humid, leading to strawberry gray mold, powdery mildew, leaf spot and verticillium wilt, with a survival rate of around 80%. After the multi-span greenhouse solves the space problem, the survival rate reaches more than 90%.

Strawberry grower Li Yunyue told reporters: “This greenhouse of mine is a multi-span greenhouse built using the framework of a greenhouse grape shed. One greenhouse is 6 mu for us. As soon as you come in, you feel the sunlight is fairly abundant and the air circulates fairly well; the second thing that makes my strawberry base different from others is that organic fertilizer is 1000 kg per mu, and chemical fertilizer is basically not used. We refuse reddening agents and ripening agents.”

It is understood that Li Yunyue contracted a total of 12 mu of vineyard land this year and planted more than 50,000 strawberry plants, all using fermented rabbit manure fertilizer. Bees are kept in the greenhouse, insect traps are hung up, and green, pollution-free cultivation is practiced, so the strawberries grown have no trouble finding a market at all. Now the second crop of strawberries has already bloomed and will enter the peak picking season during the Spring Festival.
