Running his own ecological garden, Ban Qingwei walks the road to prosperity

On June 21, during an interview in Taiping Town, Xiayi County, the reporter learned that Ban Qingwei, a young farmer from the town's West Village, is a fairly well-known skilled earner in the area. A few years ago, he set up a science and technology ecological garden, engaged in organic fruit and vegetable cultivation and ecological poultry farming, and embarked on the road to prosperity.

According to Ban Qingwei, after graduating from junior middle school he worked at an ecological estate in Sichuan while studying at a local agricultural training class. Over the years he not only mastered scientific ecological planting and breeding techniques, but also met a young woman who had graduated from Sichuan Agricultural University at the estate, and they happily married. In 2008, they resolutely returned to their hometown with the agricultural science and technology knowledge they had learned, rented 200 mu of village land through land transfer to set up a fruit and vegetable ecological garden, introduced excellent new fruit and vegetable varieties, and adopted biological organic techniques for scientific management, embarking on the road of entrepreneurship and prosperity. Today, the ecological garden they operate has formed a three-dimensional, virtuous circular ecological chain. The green fruits abundantly produced throughout the four seasons and the free-range chickens, free-range geese and egg products raised under the fruit trees are highly favored by merchants, bringing in substantial returns.
