Growing lingzhi mushrooms in greenhouses paves the road to prosperity

Greenhouses grow the prosperity-making "herb of immortality" - lingzhi

In many people's minds, lingzhi grows in deep mountains and old forests or on cliff faces, but nowadays lingzhi can also be grown in greenhouses. A few days ago, this reporter followed experts from the Municipal Agriculture Bureau to the Kairun Edible Fungi Base in Xiqing District. As soon as we entered the greenhouse, we found it full of golden lingzhi, one after another. They opened up like little umbrellas, each edged with gold, and covered with a thick layer of coffee-colored fine powder. Sun Shaoqi, chairman of Kairun Group, told this reporter that the coffee-colored fine powder is a treasure: it is lingzhi spore powder, which has very high nutritional value. Only 0.5 kg of spore powder can be collected from 50 kg of lingzhi.

This reporter found that the greenhouse where the lingzhi was grown was rather dim, with only a few beams of light shining in through the roof. Technician Meng Zhaolu told this reporter that lingzhi does not like light very much; if the light is too strong, it will affect its normal growth. The temperature generally needs to be around 20°C to 30°C, and in winter the soil temperature must also reach about 20°C. How do you raise the temperature in winter? this reporter asked curiously. Meng Zhaolu dug into the soil and exposed a section of wire. He told this reporter that this is a heating wire buried in the greenhouse soil, and it is used to raise the temperature in winter. To ensure success with the lingzhi, they specially hired a professional teacher from Tianjin Agricultural University, and hired a lingzhi-growing expert from Fujian at a high salary.

"Since it is so difficult, why must you still grow lingzhi?" this reporter asked Sun Shaoqi.

"It is entirely to lead the cooperative's farmers to get rich faster. Building a greenhouse now costs nearly 200,000 yuan. If you only grow some ordinary vegetables, fruits and so on, it takes a very long time to recover the investment cost. Only by innovatively growing high-value-added products can we lead farmers to increase their incomes and become prosperous." Sun Shaoqi told this reporter with a smile.
