Bozhou City's family farms have grown to nearly a thousand, and large-scale operation has improved land efficiency

Right now across the land of Bozhou, autumn harvesting and autumn planting are in full swing over a wide area. On the afternoon of October 8, Nie Hongwei, the person in charge of "Hongwei Family Farm" in Nieqiao Village, Dayang Town, Qiaocheng District, was directing a corn combine harvester at work on his own farm.

"Although this year's corn suffered unfavorable weather with mid-season drought and late-season rain, because we responded in time, the harvest is still quite good. Judging from what has been harvested so far, the yield per mu can reach about a thousand jin." Nie Hongwei said that his family farm has a total of more than 1000 mu of arable land. In order to improve production efficiency, he purchased more than 40 units (sets) of various agricultural production machinery, fully achieving mechanized agricultural production.

Nie Hongwei, who was previously rated by the National Ministry of Agriculture as a "National Major Grain Grower," established the family farm on August 6, 2013. It was the first family farm in Qiaocheng District, and also the first family farm in our city to be reviewed and approved by the agriculture department and officially listed. After more than a year of development, his farm is moving toward the goal of expanding and strengthening intensive agricultural production, transferring more land, and leading more farmers to get rich together.

Nie Hongwei's family farm is just a microcosm of the rapid development of many family farms in our city. At present, the city's family farms have grown to 966, and this year 16 family farms were rated as provincial-level demonstration family farms, while 46 family farms were rated as municipal-level demonstration family farms.

With the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization and the massive transfer of young and middle-aged rural labor, the problem of "who will farm the land and who will work in agriculture" has become increasingly prominent. Cultivating new types of agricultural business entities such as family farms has become an important task in innovating the agricultural operation system and mechanisms.

Right now, family farms are springing up like bamboo shoots after rain across the land of Bozhou. This has not only achieved intensive and large-scale land operation, but also solved the dilemma of "who will farm the land," allowing those who move to the city to work with peace of mind, while the benefits of the land have also been significantly improved.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Municipal Agriculture Committee, in order to promote the development of family farms, our city has continuously deepened reform and issued a series of preferential agricultural policies. The Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government issued the "Several Opinions on Promoting Rural Land Circulation," actively guiding rural land circulation to favor family farms. In order to solve the loan problems of family farms, our city earnestly implemented the spirit of higher-level documents and carried out pilot direct management and direct lending for family farms. Led by the Municipal People's Bank and the Agriculture Committee, financial institutions were organized to provide one-on-one loan support to 16 family farms, and 3.59 million yuan in loans has been issued so far.

The Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government attach great importance to the development of family farms. At the city's rural work conference earlier this year, the city's "Top Ten Family Farms" were selected and each was awarded a prize of 20,000 yuan. In order to support the development of family farms, our city has carried out counterpart assistance to family farms by agriculture and other departments, helping family farms coordinate and solve difficulties and problems encountered in development. Departments such as the People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference have also listed family farm development as an important task in agriculture and rural work.

In addition, our city has also promoted the improvement of family farm quality and sustained and healthy development through measures such as carrying out demonstration family farm creation activities, strengthening training for family farm operators, and vigorously advancing the informatization of family farms.
