Agricultural E-commerce Model - A New Business Format for Hainan Agricultural Product Trading
"The internet is a world for dreaming, and Hainan is a paradise for realizing dreams." In the development process of Hainan's agricultural e-commerce, who has the most innovative spirit? Who achieved success in the shortest time? Who are the most outstanding trendsetters?
At the high-end dialogue and innovative development special session, renowned domestic experts, enterprise CEOs and entrepreneurial leaders gathered together to discuss topics such as "the innovative genes and transformation path of traditional agriculture," "the best time for Hainan agriculture to make a major push into e-commerce," "promoting e-commerce operation experience" and "promoting the e-commerce transformation of traditional enterprises." Based on Hainan's actual conditions and focusing on innovation in agricultural e-commerce operations, they engaged in collisions of ideas and exchanges of words to jointly discuss the future development plan for Hainan's agricultural e-commerce.
"The agricultural e-commerce model, with an informatization platform as its carrier, has developed so rapidly and grown so quickly that it has become a new business format for Hainan agricultural product trading, with far-reaching influence and great significance for Hainan's agricultural development in the new era," said Wang Xiaoqiao, deputy director of the Hainan Provincial Department of Agriculture, at the forum. As the competent department for agriculture, the Hainan Provincial Department of Agriculture firmly implements the decisions and arrangements of the provincial party committee and provincial government and firmly supports the development of Hainan's agricultural e-commerce.
Wang Xiaoqiao believes that Hainan's economic development model, constrained by geography, has formed an export-oriented development trend, the so-called "island economy," which is to a certain extent restricted by the limitations of space, time and understanding of traditional trading methods. The emergence of the e-commerce trading model has broken the constraints of space and time on traditional sales models, shortened the spatial distance and time difference between trading parties, and greatly reduced transaction costs. Agricultural informatization is an important symbol of agricultural modernization, and the e-commerce trading model it has spawned has put forward new and higher requirements for agricultural products in links such as production, quality supervision, brand creation and circulation, and will certainly further promote the transformation and upgrading of Hainan's agriculture.
Wang Xiaoqiao said that the Hainan Provincial Department of Agriculture will take practical and effective measures to fully promote the more standardized and healthy development of Hainan's agricultural e-commerce. First, comprehensively promote the organization and standardization of agricultural production to lay a solid foundation for the long-term development of agricultural e-commerce. Second, accelerate the promotion of brand creation, with 100 million yuan invested in 2014 to develop brand agriculture. At present, the province has a cumulative total of 318 pollution-free agricultural product production bases, with an area of 3.1765 million mu, including 293 pollution-free melon, fruit and vegetable production bases; 343 products produced by 150 planting enterprises have been approved to use the pollution-free agricultural product mark, with annual sales of 3.6 billion yuan. Third, continuously promote agricultural informatization. Fourth, vigorously promote the scaled and standardized development of e-commerce to establish a good image for Hainan's agricultural e-commerce. Fifth, accelerate the layout of Hainan agricultural product logistics distribution bases. Sixth, accelerate the training of e-commerce professionals.
Peak Dialogue - Agricultural E-commerce Must Continuously Innovate
The biggest highlight of this forum was "focusing on practice and sharing experience." Experts and scholars from inside and outside the province, enterprise CEOs and entrepreneurial leaders held dialogues on "Hainan Agricultural E-commerce This Year," "New Ways to Play with Social Media," "How to Use Big Data?" and "How Can Sellers Master Marketing?" to pool wisdom and connect value platforms across the industry ecosystem.
Yuan Yue, chairman of Beijing Horizon Planning; Tang Yongbo, head of agriculture and food business at Alibaba Group's Taobao.com; Zhang Yanbing, general manager of SF Express Hainan region; Hu Weidong, president of the Hainan Provincial E-commerce Association; Liu Hanxi, chairman of Hainan Nanguo Food Co., Ltd.; Yang Zansong, initiator of Beijing Feimalv; Gu Huihua, chairman of Shanghai Yingjiu Agricultural Technology Development Co., Ltd.; Du Wencai, dean of the School of Information Science and Technology at Hainan University; Liu Qingyang, initiator of Taobao.com Specialty China Hainan Pavilion; and Zhang Tianyi, general manager of Haikou Wangchuang Network Technology, among others, respectively engaged in peak dialogues at the "High-end Dialogue" and "Innovative Development Special Session."
"Hainan's agricultural e-commerce is developing rapidly, mainly because a solid foundation was laid in previous years." Du Wencai, dean of the School of Information Science and Technology at Hainan University, listed the development of Hainan's electronic technology from aspects such as "mobile communications, social media, the Internet of Things and cloud computing." He believes that the first step for the successful development of Hainan's agricultural e-commerce is the quality of agricultural products, such as using Internet of Things technology to locate each product (object) to ensure product quality and safety. The second is the integrity of enterprises. In addition, a good logistics chain is crucial to the development of Hainan's agricultural e-commerce; logistics distribution is the third step for the success of Hainan's agricultural e-commerce besides integrity. The fourth step is to focus on customer experience, think for customers, and use computer and internet technology to analyze consumers' consumption behavior, habits and so on.
Zhang Yanbing, general manager of SF Express Hainan region, then said that for the development of Hainan's fresh products, logistics is the key breakthrough point. Only by increasing logistics speed and reducing logistics costs to the minimum can products be profitable.
