Nanning dispatch (Reporter Zhang Mengjun, Correspondent Huang Zhenguang) Have you ever imagined that one day, farmers could sit at home and, with a few taps on a smartphone, see the temperature and humidity in their vegetable greenhouses at a glance? Have you ever imagined that one day, city residents could skip even a trip to the vegetable market and directly "buy vegetables online and pick them up downstairs"? On December 1, the Regional Department of Agriculture signed a cooperation agreement with China Telecom Guangxi Company. In accordance with the Ministry of Agriculture's requirements for information services to reach villages and households, the two sides will work together to accelerate the process of agricultural informatization in Guangxi, helping more and more farmers get online and more fresh agricultural products "get connected," bringing real benefits to both city residents and farmers.

According to reports, in recent years informatization has developed rapidly, and e-commerce has gradually swept through the circulation sector of every industry. A large number of fresh agricultural products from Guangxi, such as Baise mangoes and Liucheng honey tangerines, are selling briskly online. However, due to the lack of standardized planting, preservation, logistics and online sales methods, it is not easy for farmers to truly "get connected."

Without agricultural informatization there can be no agricultural modernization. The Regional Department of Agriculture attaches great importance to combining modern agriculture with information technology. To address the shortcomings in informatization in our region, it has launched comprehensive strategic cooperation with China Telecom Guangxi Company. Based on cloud services, the Internet of Things, big data and the mobile Internet, the two sides will advance agricultural informatization initiatives such as "Nongji Bao," the 12316 cloud call center and agricultural e-commerce, carrying out in-depth cooperation across agricultural production, operation, management and services, fully implementing the Ministry of Agriculture's work on information services reaching villages and households, and accelerating the process of agricultural and rural informatization.

China Telecom will also give full play to its own advantages, continuously innovating informatization applications in areas such as agricultural resource management, agricultural industry management, comprehensive agricultural law enforcement, agricultural product quality and safety supervision, and agricultural emergency command, helping the Guangxi Department of Agriculture achieve scientific decision-making and efficient management, and providing assistance for farmers in obtaining information, guiding agricultural production and broadening sales channels for agricultural products.

According to the cooperation agreement, Guangxi Telecom will provide wireless network services. Through China Telecom's wireless network, high-speed broadband and cloud service platform, farmers can not only access the Internet at high speed and enjoy a rich information-based life, but also have their own online virtual shop, displaying, managing, selling and trading their own agricultural products online through the "Guangxi Agricultural Products Micro Mall."

Guangxi Telecom can also provide farmers and agricultural product merchants with multiple methods such as computers, mobile phone clients and IPTV broadband television to carry out real-time monitoring and tracking of the source, production, packaging and transportation environment of agricultural products, achieving quality and safety supervision, traceability and display of agricultural products, making it convenient for consumers to buy with confidence and enabling online payment.

In order to improve the efficiency of agricultural management, Guangxi Telecom can provide agricultural IoT environmental monitoring services relying on sensor technology, wireless technology and video technology, achieving full-process monitoring and management of the main parameters of the greenhouse environment, and providing modern means for refined scientific breeding and scientific planting.
