National Agricultural Science and Technology Service Cloud Platform Officially Launched
On January 26, at the Beautiful Countryside Expo held at the National Agricultural Exhibition Center, the National Agricultural Science and Technology Service Cloud Platform was officially launched. Vice Minister of Agriculture Zhang Taolin attended the launch ceremony.
The National Agricultural Science and Technology Service Cloud Platform is a comprehensive service platform designed and architected by the Department of Science, Technology and Education of the Ministry of Agriculture based on cloud computing and big data, built specifically for agricultural science and technology services. The cloud platform includes 6 specialized sub-platforms: integrated system business, smart farmers, agricultural technology extension, scientific and technological innovation support, achievement transformation and extension, and circular agriculture, as well as 16 core business systems including the National Agricultural Science, Education, Environment and Energy Integrated Business Management System, the Smart Farmer Online Training System, the Grassroots Agricultural Technology Extension Integrated Business System, and the Modern Agricultural Industry Technology System Integrated Business Platform System. Its purpose is to integrate relevant resources of the agricultural science and education system, open up the channel between the economy and science and technology, promote agricultural scientific and technological innovation, achievement transformation and application, and the cultivation of new-type professional farmers, and fully support the development of modern agriculture. Through the free issuance of real-name-registered “Smart Agriculture Cards” to experts, agricultural technicians and farmers at large, and the launch of Smart Agriculture Connect services, the cloud platform will bridge the last meter of agricultural science and technology information services, achieve mobile interconnection, and provide farmers and all kinds of modern agricultural production and operation entities with precise, timely and full-process advisory-style science and technology information services, ensuring the improvement of the household reach rate and delivery rate of agricultural science and technology, and effectively supporting the development of rural financial services and e-commerce.
Tang Ke, Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Education of the Ministry of Agriculture, introduced that the next step will be to promote ministry-province co-construction, support and encourage local areas to establish sub-platforms, and within the year select a number of provinces with mature conditions and high enthusiasm in each major region as pilot provinces for whole-system advancement of the cloud platform; and select a number of modern agricultural industry technology systems, Ministry of Agriculture key laboratories, and national agricultural science and technology innovation and integration demonstration bases as cloud platform integrated application demonstration bases.
