Autumn celery grown under shade netting hits the market early and sells at a good price

"Autumn celery comes to market early, off-season, and the price is pretty good. Right now it sells for 6 yuan per kilogram on the market." On September 27, during a visit to Daxiong Village, Huguo Town, Naxi District, Luzhou City, the reporter saw a steady stream of buyers coming to purchase autumn celery. When farmer Li Dacai talked about selling autumn celery, he was grinning from ear to ear. Old Li planted more than 2 mu of autumn celery, and his income could reach more than 4000 yuan.

In recent years, farmers in Naxi District have enjoyed the sweet rewards of growing autumn celery, and the district's autumn celery base has reached more than 10000 mu in planting area. Autumn celery is mostly grown under shade netting, so it comes to market early, right in the off-season for vegetables, and buyers scramble to purchase it. Seizing the key season for autumn celery production, the district's agricultural technology department sent more than 20 agricultural technicians deep into the vegetable bases for the long term to guide vegetable growers in pollution-free cultivation, showing the people hand by hand how to fertilize and weed, do a good job of field management, and ban the application of highly toxic and high-residue pesticides, so as to produce "safe vegetables." At the same time, Naxi District gives full play to the role of the vegetable professional association. In addition to doing a good job of technology extension, the vegetable professional association focuses on strengthening market development, training and identifying a group of rural brokers, and doing a good job of selling autumn celery.

The association now has more than 200 members, and more than 10 vegetable dealers purchase autumn celery at fixed points for the long term, selling it as far as markets in Chengdu, Chongqing, Guizhou and other places. At present, the district has more than 300 farming households planting 5 mu or more, and the largest household can earn more than 8000 yuan a year from this item alone.
