Liu Yunshan becomes a "Goose Commander," racing toward the road to prosperity

Recently, staff from the Mo Banner Goose Company came to the farm of Liu Yunshan, a breeder in Tawen'aobao Town, to purchase the geese he had raised at the price agreed upon in the spring. All 20,000 geese that Liu Yunshan raised this year have been sold, and 400,000 yuan is in his pocket.

Liu Yunshan took the reporter on a tour of his farm. Through the fence enclosure, snow-white geese could be seen, some eating feed and some playing in the water. Just then, the feeder drove over a cart loaded with feed. After the gate opened, the tractor drove into the geese's "territory." When the geese saw the "delicacy," they happily came forward to enjoy it. Just as the reporters were marveling at the large number of geese, Liu Yunshan told them that this was only a part of them, and that what they were seeing now was only about 6,000 to 7,000. Led by Liu Yunshan, the reporters came to the goose house, where 2,000 to 3,000 geese, like the ones outside, were all full of spirit. Liu Yunshan explained that this year his family had raised a total of 20,000 geese. When buying the goslings, he had already signed an order with the Mo Banner Goose Company, which purchased the finished geese at 16 yuan per kilogram, making things very worry-free.

After touring the goose house, Liu Yunshan then took the reporters to see his chicken house. Liu Yunshan told the reporters that in 2014, his family had raised a total of 20,000 chickens, and at the time of sale kept 5,000 hens for egg production. Each free-range egg sold for 1.5 to 2 yuan, mainly to Harbin, and each chicken alone could earn about 100 yuan just from selling eggs.

Liu Yunshan also organized and established the Hongrun Broiler Breeding Cooperative. In 2013, his income from raising free-range chickens alone reached 150,000 yuan that year. Through long-term hard work and experience, Liu Yunshan found that raising chickens takes a long cycle: roosters need to be raised for 4 months before they can be sold, and hens need 5 months before they can lay eggs. But raising geese takes at most 100 days from catching goslings to sending them to market, with a short cycle and quick results. This year, he tried raising 20,000 geese. The geese required an investment of 700,000 yuan, sales revenue was 1.1 million yuan, and he made a solid profit of 400,000 yuan. Added to the income from raising chickens, that year's income was quite substantial.

Now, when people in Tawen'aobao Town mention Liu Yunshan, everyone gives a thumbs-up and praises him as a person who dares to act, is capable of acting, and knows how to act.
